preserving your memories

Elaine Rogers Cooper has been a selling and exhibiting acrylic and watercolor artist since 1972. Her works have been shown in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and North Carolina. Although she has degrees in Surgical Nursing and European History, has never studied art. She is a self-taught artist.

Her style is 'soft realism' and she focuses primarily on landscapes, seascapes, flowers and plants. As opposed to the many 'limited palette' watercolors of the earlier years, she now loves painting in rich, subdued colors in her acrylic paintings. Her extensive travels in the Mediterranean created a love of the regional architecture and the stone facades that reflect the centuries. This fascination can be seen in many of her paintings.

In addition to painting what she loves, she also paints many commissioned works for clients. Using the name 'Preserving Memories' she takes a client's photograph of his or her favorite scene and recreates it on finest quality stretched canvas-in the same 'soft realism' style.

She currently lives in Wilmington, NC.

We hope you enjoy looking through her gallery!
